RSGC
is currently undertaking a major golf course
reconstruction to remodel its Old Course and New
Courses. All information presented below are those
prior to the golf course reconstruction. The
current 18-hole course is the West Course (1st Nine
New/2nd Nine Old).
Our 45-hole golf
course comprises two
18-hole courses and a
short 9-hole course.
The historic Old
Course is a
championship course
which has hosted many
international golf
tournaments.
The
beautifully landscaped
parkland course paints
a captivating scenery
with an abundance of
matured trees, some of
which are a hundred
year or more. Flora
and fauna co-exist in
perfect harmony as
Nature beckons from
the sanctuary of
wildlife habitat in
the vicinity. An
enchanting view to
behold on the green
canvas to the sounds
of bird chirping,
friendly monkeys
accompanying the
golfers and the
occasional glimpses of
the iguanas traversing
the grounds.
Significant elevation
changes and elevated green guarded by bunkers.
Missed tee-shots to the green will be left
with a difficult pitch or bunker shot back up to the
putting surface.
The
West Course is the current
18-Holes Course during the
golf course reconstruction
period.
The Xanthostemon Chrysanthus planted in 1998 at
the rear of 7th Green Old Course and Car Park A is
an attractive sight when it flowers in full
blooms . Also known as
Golden Peda, this tree was first brought in to
Singapore from Australia.
Of medium size, its
height ranges from 12 to 20 metre. Its main
characteristics is its dense, compact
and dark glossy crown which sets a prominent
background for its attractive yellow flowers. This tree is a hardy, fast and
prolific grower which does well under full
sun. It remains evergreen and does not
shed its leaves. Flowering is irregular
and is triggered by sudden drop in
temperature.
