The Circular
FROM  THE  CIRCULAR  OF  DECEMBER   2002  ISSUE

The Byelaws of our Club were established to set out and regulate the Rights, the do's and the don'ts of Members. Contravention or breaches of the Byelaws may result in the offender being imposed penalties which may include suspension or loss of certain or all privileges.

In upholding the Byelaws, The Committee had over the passed few months suspended several Members.

As expected the regular and constant complaints received by The Committee pertain to littering (especially cigarette butts), slow play, unraked bunkers, unfilled divot holes and  unrepaired pitch marks and other forms of breaches of golf etiquette.

The Committee has directed that commencing 2003, Management is to monitor closely the conduct of Members. Those found to be in breach of golf etiquette or Byelaws will be called up to face disciplinary action.

As part and parcel of the upgrading and improvement programme of our Golf Courses, I urge Members to cooperate by raking bunkers after use, repair pitch marks, and to refrain from littering.

The weather over the past few weeks further confirms that the drainage system of our Golf Courses is poor and inefficient, particularly that of the Suleiman Course. Despite a huge sum of money being spent on the Suleiman Course it was still like a padi field and unplayable over the last few weeks.

With all our facilities and manpower, our Club should have at least three Championship Nines; the 1st and 2nd of the Old and the 2nd New. Depending on the availability of funds, work on the 2nd New will commence in the coming New Year.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Members who celebrate Christmas a "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and to all Members a "HAPPY NEW YEAR".

DATO' BOBBY J.T. ONG

Captain
