Aged 35, Ho Ro Bin
is a two-time Wushu World Champion. He first won the Wushu World
Championship in Hong Kong in 1999 where he beat exponents from 60
countries to bag the title. He next clinched the World Championship
in 2005.

After two World
Championships under his belt, he decided to retire to concentrate in
coaching. In 2006, he was the National Wushu Coach. Malaysia was
then hosting the 2006 World Championship and Ro Bin’s charges “did
pretty well in the tourney and bagged a few medals.”
Apart from that,
he has a team of over 20 students whom he specially handpicked to
train for state competitions. So far 8 have been selected to
represent the Putrajaya Wushu Federation. From these 8, three have
been earmarked for SUKMA 2010.
In the short period
of two years, Ro Bin has been able to produce Wushu talents of state
level standards. This truly shows his dedication to the sport and
his ability as a coach to nurture interests.
Ever since 2007,
together with other Wushu exponents, Ro Bin has been organizing
workshops yearly for both primary and secondary students during the
school holidays. The workshops are open to those who have and those
who have no Wushu experience All his workshops are very successful
for it garnered 120 participants in 2007 and 160 signed up in 2008.
